At 7 PM, Monday May 11th – at Unity of Santa Barbara, music will embrace those in attendance. Original songs, compositions for keyboards and guitars. Guest artists may join for an impromptu mixture of styles and expressions of a healing nature. The new fully analogue sound environment will be set up for a full-bodied experience, as music always was before the digital age.
This event will also be streamed on UnitySB.org.
A tribute song: The “Great Generation”
What is music? (click here)
Music has lived with humans perhaps even before we could use language – why?
Until 80 years ago or so, music was always live. It took musicians to make music and listeners to listen. It wasn’t just the sound that made music magical, it was the fact that those playing and listening shared a connection that was felt. It was a connection where a spirit could be felt in addition to everyone present – we called it the “Muse”. Today we hear music everywhere, at home, in supermarkets, gas stations, elevators – It can be comforting or adding to an environment, but but it is not true music, it is the sound of music.  Music is when it is played and received in the same moment.
If interesed, here is some background on this Bent fellow:Â
Get Bent
Danish born singer/songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, philosopher, story teller, humorist, reverend, writer & producer.
From Bent:
From what I understand, millions have heard my music and would never know it – on records, radio, movies and TV – first in Denmark, Germany, Holland, America and around the world. While living in Hollywood I made music for Warner Brothers, Capitol Records, The United Nations, “Beverly Hills 90210” & “Sesame Street”, and for films like Burt Reynold’s “Hooper”.
I’m glad to say that after living an already long life and recording and performing in many countries, my hands have never been better and my voice is still tolerable.
