I'm Just Listening

During the years of 2005 to 2020 I lived in Los Olivos, CA and established a place of music in the middle of town open to the public.  It was my front garden and we had many talented musicians come to perform.  The place still exists, now managed by Karen Seeley – see more here.  This video and the song I  wrote while at TCP captures the spirit of eveyone and the garden.

The music is a live recording.

Flight Meditation

After a storm I was lucky to catch a hawk in flight, then edited the footage and scored it using an original recording of a spontaneous piano composition, later orchestrated slightly. The clouds (and birds) are real, not special effects. Music, editing and camera by yours truly – Bent Myggen.

The clip is intended as a short meditation. Use headphones or good full range speaker system for best results.

L.O. Standard Time

After living in Los Olivo, Ca for some years and building The Crooked Path (a performance venue) I wrote this song about the town.  Time is flexible in Los Olivos, so they call it LO Standard Time when people don’t show up on time.
Maynard Furgesson Big Band

Music video for release of new Jazz album “Birdland” by Mainard Furgesson. Shot and edited by VisionEars at Sound Design Studios in Santa Barbara.  They gave me one and a half take to run around at shoot what I could – quick work…  I long for those analogue tape days.

Take 3 in LA performance - 1987

Back in time, living and performing in LA. This is yours truly with Magi Myggen (then wife) and Michael Craig (still good friend) and some great LA musicians – David Ericson on the keyboard.  Three original songs: “Its you”, “The Island” and “Can I be with You” by – you guessed it.   The performance was at “My Place” in Santa Monica – and the mike for this recording was in the audience, but still gets a good sense of the sound.  We were not bad at all…
